Lock for a '75 Excella 500

Where can I buy parts? I need a new lock for my 1975 Excella 500. I'm new to airstream and don't know where to go, any help would be greatly appreciated. Phyllis

Unfourtunatly that lock is NLA (no longer available) Look to Ebay or a junkyard. Or go the custom replacement route found at www.inlandrv.com or do everything you can to salvage your lock.

Check with Andy at www.inlandrv.com or check the vendor area for Airstream dealers. I bought a new tumbler with keys from Inland but it is my understanding the locks are pretty expensive.

Hi Phyllis,
Welcome to the forums!
If you are talking about the main door latch/lock they are no longer made and are outrageous in price when you can find one($700+) . You might be able to get a local locksmith to rebuild it for you or check out www.inlandrv.com if you have the deadbolt installed on yours you might be able to get away with just using that for the time being.

Aaron

If you have one of those wide but not very tall locks usually used on a 75 era Airstream, you can see a photo tour through replacement using Inland RV's KT lock replacement kit at
http://sierranevadaairstreams.org/me...k/gallery.html
It isn't quite complete yet but you can see what Inland RV provides and what you need to do to replace the lock with a new one and to evaluate what Inland RV is selling.
