lite up the Lucite

I have a really nice lucite assist handle on our 07 Classic. Is there an EASY way to illuminate one end of the handle so it 'glows' when lit. I think it could be wired to small step light just below it, so both work on the same switch.
Thanks.

Scott,

You would most likely need to illuminate it through the end cut of the rod. So the first thing I would do is remove the handle and try the light source to see if it gives you the desired effect.

I assume that it is a folding type handle. I would cut a hole (YIKES) in the skin that aligned with the end of the handle when it is swung out in the locked position. Then install the light source into the skin and seal the opening.

Im thinking "LED" would be the way to go... Non heat and lots of light and low pull off the battery!

Lucite needs to be lit from a cut edge or end. FWIW I have Lucite (or something similar in the grab handles on my big truck. They have a bulb on each end mounted in the brackets. IIRC they are something like a 98 bulb in a socket. Biggest problem has been corrosion in the socket. They are the blurry things on the side of my truck
