I'm Locked out!!!

I have a 1976 Airstream land yacht. The key will spin the cylinder but it will not enguage the latch. So I'm locked out. I have tried to take the hindge bolts out, but have run into some trouble getting the bottom bolts loose and with the nuts falling inside the wall. I have purchased a impact wrench and was going to try again, but thought I would check with you-all first. Any suggestions? How can I get into my trailer with out severly damaging anything?

Call the lock smith. It will cost you less than the repairs.

The cylinder itself will crack and that causes it to spin in its mount. You could drill it out, it will need to be replaced anyway. If you drill out the cylinder, manually turn the latch and get in, remove the whole lock and you can replace the cylinder. the parts are available, but you will have a new key to go with it.If it matched any other locks then you end up with two similiar but different keys.

Alternative entry

Can you get in through Storage door?

Maybe get a small kid in through the small door?

And you can always try to remove the rear "emergency exit" window and climb into the trailer.
