When you turn off house water supply, do you turn off your home hot water heater?

Of course. Sorry, My list was not exquisite.

Since we have “on demand” gas powered water heater, I turn off and unplug the heater.

Some expanded tips...

I also shut off the Propane tank. The only thing left on is fridge without food... but I do leave several gallon milk jugs full of water in the fridge(thermal density) to minimize compressor cycling.

For long trips, pour mineral oil in the P-traps... it doesn’t evaporate and keeps the sewer vapor in check. You can use that in any floor drain you may have like in commercial kitchens and or restroom floor drain. Otherwise, seal in some manner like as follows.

For toilets, a layer of plastic wrap keeps water evaporation down. Same for sinks. Just don’t forget to remove the wrap prior to use!!!

Yes. We have natural gas; I turn off the water heater and the gas supply to the heater.
