How to adjust the main door?

Hi everybody.
We are having a very difficult time trying to close the main door. According to what we see it seems like it needs a little adjustment since the bottom part of the door is not level with the rest of the skin.
Any way to perform some adjustments?

The entrance door frame and door jamb, are both cast metal.

If it's out of alignment the door frame is bent.

If you attempt to bend it back, you might totally crack that frame.

It's best if you find out exactly waht the issue is before you attempt any bending.

If you break it, it must be repaired, which can get expensive very quickly.

The cast framed doors have not been available for many years. You would have to modify the shell to use a later style door.

The later style door, from Airstream, costs over $2000.00, plus shpping.

Hi Andy and thanks for the fast response.
It all started when we got here and parked the trailer. We also use the leveling jacks to level the trailer and to lift the trailer a little and released some of the weight from the axles. That extra space will also give me the extra room to fit under the trailer to have access to the water tanks.
How do we know what is the issue?

The "leveling" jacks are actually stabilizing jacks. They are not meant to level or lift the trailer, but instead, to limit movement once the trailer is level. By leveling and lifting the trailer with the jacks, you have it twisted in all sorts of ways.

Release the jacks and, hopefully, your problem will go away. You can then level an position the trailer with leveling blocks without putting strange forces on it.

Just a little issue trying to lower the trailer down...any inputs?

You are probably going to have to jack the AS up with a floor jack (use proper location) and remove that STABILIZER jack (not leveling jack, as you can see). I saw your other thread. I'd say it's questionable if you can fix that one, but maybe.

PO of my trailer did the same thing, but much less severe. Only one of the arms was deformed and I was able to reshape.

The most pressure I put on mine is one full turn on the crank after contacting ground, AND EQUAL ON ALL 4 CORNERS. ASes are flexible and you can put them in a twist easily. The door is where this shows up. Even after sitting for a number of hours, one or more stabilizer feet can sink into the ground enough to twist the unit. In that case, raise all for jacks and reset to one turn on all four corners. During rainy weather with soft ground you may have to repeat a couple of times and set feet on good sized blocks. I use the lego blocks.
