Arrrr but it looks pretty grim

Good luck Captain,

I have yet to find a replacement source, and machining a worn out hinge for bushings is not a task for the faint-hearted.

Inland Andy's solution of door sag is to re-hang the door on the hinge.

If you need a replacement for a seriously damaged hinge, you will be consigned to the scrap yard.

I hope someone else posts a more optimistic response.

Tom
p.s. I have successfully implemented a solution that works for me on worn out hinges; Et al shot it down in a previous thread, so PM me if interested.

Greg,

Are you talking about the door within a door, if so let me know if you find any. I have four hinges in need of help.

Bill

Yes the door in a door is what I am needing. I would think with the wear of 40 - 50 years on these things there would be plenty of people in need and someone might be fabricating them. At least that is my hope.

Greg,
If and when you find an extra pair of hinges, I am also in need of a pair. My 55 Safari had rusted hinges on it when I acquired it..I did manage to make somewhat of an attempt to replace them, but not near a pretty, but are functional, until I find a better set. Attached are the before photo of the door, note how the bottom was bent out...this repair really gave me fits...and the after homemade hinges.

Levon, looks like you did a pretty good job to me. If I thought I could do as well I would be happy. It is beginning to look like I will have to build my own somehow. I even bought a door off ebay from a 1950 airstream they were parting out hoping to put the two together to make one good door, but it's hinges were even worse than mine.

Still hoping someone out there knows of a good metal man. Just from this post it looks like they could sell 4 to 5 pair and I am sure there are many more.
