Help with latch repair please

Own am '88 29. Battery box latch comes apart i.e. the actual "latch" part, which is press fitted into the core (part the key turns) simply falls off the "studs" it is pressed onto. I am sure others have had this happen. I am thinking of simply drilling small hole next to one of the "studs" and inserting a small screw over the edge of the "stud". What do you fellas think??

welcome to the forum anniedog!

just getting a new lock may be the best choice. it should not be a airstream specific part. try your local locksmith, they should be able to get what you need.

good luck and welcome aboard!
