Help! Locked in shower!!

I have a 2009 Flying Cloud 27 FB. The knob/lock on the shower is a weak plastic lever type latch that can become easily distorted. If it does, you can't get out of the shower. On a recent trip, one of us had to stay in the AS while the other was taking a shower. I contacted AS, and sent a new one but it could easily happen again. It gets distorted when someone unfamiliar with the latch tries to open the door. Attached is a picture of a new one on the left and the distorted one on the right. Does anyone have a better more durable latch solution or maybe an earlier version that might work better?

Based on your subject line my first thought was, Thank goodness you remembered to bring your laptop into the shower... so you could email for help!

I though the same thing.

I thought maybe you were sending out a mayday using your iphone

No practical advise I'm afraid. Just realised I don't even have a catch on my shower

I just cut the plastic bit off. The magnetic seal is all you need for travelling.

Could the FC 27FB 2010 be an improvement?

I am sorry to hear of your experience. I had learned from other posts that this has happened before.

We took delivery in April on a 2010 FC 27FB. The lock on the shower door seems to be stiff enough to stay in one position until turned...and, after testing, the knob inside the shower seems to be capable of unlocking the door should it become locked.

Is it possible that this is an improvement for 2010? Or do the plastic lever/knobs produced and installed vary in integrity? What do others think?

Also have the 2010 27FB flying cloud. The latch seems plenty tight to prevent inadvertent locking while in shower. We only turn the latch when preparing to depart, and thanks to threads like this, always check it before using shower!
