In your first picture there should be a piece on the back of the key cylinder that moves the shaft next to it up and down.
You can see all the parts here:

The KT 200 lock is a pretty simple mechanism. If you don't feel up to tackling it yourself I know Inland RV used to do repairs. Your description does sound like probably a simple repair. Could need just a good cleaning to loosen a sticking part.
What I did was forget about locking this lock and put on a Stanley Locking Hasp which will also prevent the door accidentally opening on the road. Inland RV also makes a less expensive replacement lock.

I don't think so. On the back of the cylinder there is pin that sticks out. This pin moves the locking shaft up and down.
The pin on the back of yours does to seem to engage the shaft.

I took a second look at your photos and the parts to lock the lock look like might be there. I compared your photos to an extra lock I have. The way the lock locks is at the end of the key cylinder is a small tang. When the cylinder rotates it engages a slot on the shaft which moves the shaft locking the lock. It is not clear in the photo if the tang is missing or not. Make sure the shaft will slide freely and the slot is in the right position for the tang to engage and the slot is not worn. The shaft is available from Out of Doors Mart as posted above.

OK, let's call it a tang!
The tang should be engaged into the shaft as Marshal said. Looking again at your pictures, the shaft looks like it has rotated about 90 degrees. The cut in the shaft should be facing the outside of the door. The inside locking knob should keep that from spinning. Is the knob screwed into the shaft so that you can lock and unlock the door from inside?

Richard,
Oh My Gosh....your right. I looked at my cylinder and it doesnt have that tail piece. So, so glad I asked you. You saved me BIG $. I almost bought a new lock assembly out of complete frustration... However, Adage suggested I post a question/ photos for answers to my "spinning with no control" issue. Moments later you have given me total direction and a place for parts.
Ordering now...IM SO HAPPY!!!!
Thanks a million!!! Cynthia
Adage, Thanks again for you patience in walking me thru my very first post....and with photos too. A GREAT DAY!
Lumatic. Thank you too. Will look into the hasp lock. :}

The lock is not installed at the moment....happen on the way home from picking up my AS. Silly me didnt close the door properly. The door swung open at 60 MPH and split my door frame. Took the skins off. Took the door frame to a TIG welder to repair and the lock to the locksmith. Then, the lock problem...became a problem. I did reinstall the lock on the frame but, the issue is still here. The PO said he never used the lock. Then again, he said alot!! So who knows?

2 other areas of wear problems on this lock I have found is the strike pocket and a groove being worn into the end of the thingy part that actually goes into the strike pocket. What shall we call it Richard? The striker? This will cause poor closing and escalating wear on the whole door from travel vibration. You can fix wear on the striker temporarily with an epoxy putty.

That would be the other tang.
Mine has the groove. The way to work around it it to push on the door slightly when opening the latch. The epoxy putty sounds like a good fix, but as you stated, it is just a temp fix. It will return.

The 1st photo did not show up.
The 1st "tang" should be easily seen on the back of the cylinder. It is round about 1/8" diameter and sticks out about 1/8" It is in line with and right at the end of the key slot on a the diameter and circumference of the circular back of the lock key cylinder. It should be obvious how when the cylinder is turned the tang engages the slot on the shaft.
