Generic replacement for what used to be a KT Lock, what works and what doesn't?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Andy at Inland offered a kit which replaces the KT Doorhandle/lock with what I believe is a Bargman L-100 which is now discontinued.

So as far as generic replacements goes, what are my options?

I'm not at all scared of modifying the door, if only I had a KT Lock I would fix it.
PO... PO...

Check out this thread and go to post 250. The screen door also needs to be modified to clear the latch.

The L-100, L-100 Special, L-200 and L-200 Special are still somewhat available.

However, a superior upgrade is on the horizon and will be available to replace the L-100 and L-200, as well as the specials.

The replacement for the KT lock, is a Trimark lock kit, which is a flush fit, just like the KT lock.

Hey, Andy, tell me more about the "on the horizon" L200 special. (This is for the late-60s long-bolt assembly, right?) I called both VTS and Inland just yesterday to try to locate a new lock for our 67 ... and came up dry on both counts.

Lynn.

Ah, new employees.

You were not told correctly.

Sorry.

Now that you've tempted me, I have to ask the obvious question;

How far away is this horizon, and how much will it cost to get there?

A "on the horizon" replacement lock will be for the L-100 and L-200 special.

A lock replacement kist is already available for the KT lock that was used from 1970 to 1977.

There are 2 kits available. One for the cast entrance door frame that was used from 1970 to 1972, and the other kit is for the extrusion door frame that was used from 1973 to 1977.

Airstream switched to the extrusion door frame for the 1973 models and is still used today in the current models.

The cast frame left much to be desired.
