entry door catch loose

The rig is a '75 Argosy MH. The entry door latch is a pull lever variety that works fine after some lube and adjustment, then I reallized how loose the catch on the door jamb is. I don't know what was originally in the door frame to take the screws for the latch, but what's there now it's just a large hole. A previous owner dealt with it using drywall toggle bolts. I could do the same unless anyone has a better idea. There has to be something. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
