Drove over the keys...
During our last outing, I was all hooked up and ready to go, with my wife to follow later in another vehicle, pulling the boat. I arrived at our destination, only to realize I had left the trailer keys sitting on my rear bumper. Obviously, they didn't make the 100-mile trek. I called my wife on her cell phone, and asked that she bring the spare set, plus look for the set I had lost. She found them about a 1/2 mile down U.S. 41 from our south Georgia home. They had been driven over several times. The problem? That particular set had our only keys to the trailer's exterior locks: side storage compartments, potable water inlet, and battery box. I was able to straighten the keys enough to have duplicates made, with the exception of the one for the potable water lock. An odd little key, and no one could make a duplicate. I was amazed to be able to buy a cam lock at Lowe's that fit perfectly. Will wonders never cease?
