Doorbell
I have an '85 Limited. It has a doorbell under side deadbolt. Can anyone tell me where the wires to whire up some chimes are? Thanks. I have a twelve volt chimer that came from the PO and would like to hook it up for kicks. Thanks again.

I'm not sure about your '85, but the doorbell chime in our '81 is mounted in the curbside front corner, right beside the factory-installed speaker. Hope this helps. P.

I don't know about new coaches, but my '79 Excella has it mounted behind the 8-track/AM-FM panel in the street-side credenza. It has a typical ding-dong "Avon calling" sound to it.

Same as...
I'm the same as Peter. If I pull the bin out from under the right side of my couch I can see the bell at the front right of the trailer. It goes buzzz buzzz buzzz but I'm not pulling the couch apart to fix it.

Easy fix
One of the easiest repairs as far as AS repairs go.
I have seen them on the forward wall as in the depiction above and I have seen them on the side wall (Street Side).
A buzzing sound is good, that implies that you circuits are good and you only need to replace the chiime with a typical twelve volt door chime, Cost around 20 dollars.
If you dont hear any noise, you may have a corroded button at the door. Simply pry the button out and check the connections. You can buy a replacement button at Home Depot, cost around four dollars.
There are about four wires at the chime. Two go to button and two go to source voltage. two small wires go to button two larger wires got to fuse panel or branch circuit.
Piece of cake!

I just now took the doorbell button out of my Limited. Came out easy but was so corroded that the wires broke. Now I have to figure how to get at the wires. Any solutions?
About the same time the doorbell quit working my keyless entry quit. I can still get the bolt to move when I press two number buttons but it will not operate with either the personal code or the factory code. In the great scheme of the universe keyless entry is pretty insignificant. However, like a lot of others, if something is on my equipment I want it to work! Anybody have any experience with these?
I’ve sure been enjoying this site since I discovered it earlier this year.

History
Did the Keyless ever work with either number?
Do you get any noise at all?
I have discovered that some numbers are pressed at the same time on the persoanl or factory code also.

Ken,
When I first bought the trailer in 1999 the Keyless Entry worked OK with both the factory code and my personal code. Yes, it makes a noise when the two buttons are simultaneously pressed (the normal way to lock the door). When I watch it with the door open, the deadbolt slides to the locked position but will not unlock when either code is inputted.

Doorbell Thanks
Thanks everybody. I'm sure that is enough information to get it going and for the kids to drive the wife nuts ringing it. Thanks again.
