Door in a door '53 cloud inner door size.

I have to make a new skin for the inner door on my cloud. It is a door with I. a door. Would someone that has a door like this be so kind as to give me the measurment of the skin please. I have to make it from scratch. I have made one already from looking at pics of a door but I think it came out to big.
Also if anyone has ever rebuilt their door and took pics I am missing a piece the goes in at the bottom of the inner door. It will be the piece that the skin is riveted to across the bottom and ties the side framing together.
Thank you a bunch!
I could also use a nice clear pic of the corner of the inner door so I can get the curve close to being rite.

I am not sure that the measurements will help, the inner door on my Liner is different front and back. I may have posted pictures on my thread or have some at home.

I think Bill's right...each door is slightly different. I know on our two trailers, the design is different too - in lays flush when closed and the other overlays. Which door are you trying to replicate?

Do you have the bigger "main" door? I would take the dimension of the opening on that and go from there. I can take a couple of pics of each of our doors and post them - but not until later tonight....it's a work day.

The front door on my Liner is 20" wide by 42" tall and the rear door is 20 1/4" wide by 42" tall with a cut out on the rear door for the door knob.

Thank you all very much for the info! Bobglass's measurments seem like it a good fit and his 1/4 inch break looks like what the pics I have found from the PO. Thanks again all!

I am trying to mount the door. I have new hinges from VTS, I matched all the holes and drilled them all out. I used buck rivets where I could and blinds only if I had to. When I set the door up in it place and use the clekos (spelling) the door does not sit flush with the shell. It sticks out a good 1/4 inch. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or should I try some different hinges?

I have a 53 also. I would have given you the measurements earlier but i didn't come across this tread. My door sit about a good .25 inch away also. So I think this may be normal. Also did you out a crease in your new straps? Both of mine have them and help the inner door sit tighter together with the main door. I have attached a few pics. It's really bright out there so the creases don't show very well. If you need more pics I can take either in the morning or when the sun goes down behind my neighbors house. The first pic is the back of the door, 2nd and 3rd is the strap and the last is the front of the inner door. I hope this helps.

Ok I feel better now seeing your pic's thanx a bunch. I did not crease my straps at all so if you can get a better pic I would love to see where and how you did it. What did you use for a door seal with that gap?

Just to let you know, that I did not have to rebuild my door or have to crease the straps. But I have seen other 53' Flying Clouds and all the straps had the same crease. Check with VTS, they might have an idea on how to do it. Do you have the old ones? Were they not creased? So I'm not 100% that this is right or not. But it seems to be. I tried taking better pics of the strap, but they are just to shiny to get a good picture. For the rubber, i went to this place locally call Allied Trailers here in Sacramento. I have attached pics for you to see. You might have to search for this or maybe contact Allied Trailer to see if they will ship it out to you. It has an adheisive back side to help it stick. But I went ahead and removed all of the rivettes from the outer edge and used bulb rivettes to secure the rubber to the door.

What are the chances of getting a pic of your latches that hold your inner door closed to your outter door?
