door damage

Just returned from a somewhat wet trip to Topsail in Destin area. My 2 yr old had to use the potty and I thought I had locked the door but I must not have. It blew open on the interstate and bent the door. It still shuts and locks but there are 1/2-2 inch gaps on the top and bottom.
What are my options here?
Can I fix it myself? Will I cause further damage? Do I need a new door? Has anyone else had experience with this problem. (in my defense the locking mechanism is counterintuitive)
Thanks,
dik

There's a thing with a 2x4 across the middle of the door (from jamb to jamb).

Push the door against the lumber then press on the top and bottom (2 people ?)
til you get it back in shape.

There'll be someone jumping in here with a better explanation, I'm sure.

But, if not, this is a starting place...

g'luck.
