bent door

I have a 75 Globetrotter. This summer, while on the road, the door lock popped and the door flew open and hit against the side of the trailer with enough force to bend the door out of shape. Currently, I'm trying to get it bent back in by using ratchet straps and blocks of wood.
Anyone else ever have this problem? Any suggestions about how to repair it?

STOP! Do a search on the site (search tool on upper blue tool bar) For sprung door. There are several lengthy threads about how to fix this problem. You may have to remove the interior skin on the door, relieve the strain and then reattach the inside.

HI,

Welcome to the forums. In case you haven't found your answer yet...we had our door fly off... as it is about 10 years older than yours, the construction and all might be different. But here is a link to my husband's thread on our Bambi trailer. He has two different sections on the door, the link below is the second one. you will have to go to the beginning and hunt for the door came off portion...

http://www.airforums.com/forum...-17925-20.html go to post #274 for bent door.

If you can, post some pictures of yours, it might help! I also recommend you replace all the rivets in the hinges and bracing that attach your door to the trailer. We had corrosion that was not visible...

Good luck.
