Bathroom door keeper

I have an '86 Sovereign with side bath sliding door. The vinyl strap or keeper holding the door back during travel split down the middle. Snap to snap distance is 7 1/4". Anyone know a source for replacement or should I just go to a leather shop and have them make one out of leather?

We have that strap.
