Question Bargman L 100 for '69 Tradewind

Our entry door would not open and the person we took it to cut the knob off to get in. Would we be better off trying to get a rebuilt one or should we go with the new option from Inland RV? I like the look of the old style much better but I am reading that these seem to fail frequently so I am wondering if we would be better off going with the newer one.
Thoughts/suggestions?
Thanks,
Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth

The L-100 was never a fantastic product however it was workable and looks great. I found a NOS (new old stock) L-100 for my Avion C-11 and have been happy with the way it has worked. There are some critical screws that should be treated with loctite before assembly as they will cause the lock to fail if they back out.

L-100s are getting hard to find but do show up occasionally on eBay and elsewhere. Good luck in your search.
