Hide a key under the trailer for the trailer door. There is usually nothing to steal in there anyway. I often skip locking it as it would be cheaper for me if the thief would just take something versus the cost of screwing up the trailer door.
Hide a key under the truck for the truck. The key will only open the door lock as it is a dumb key with no chip - truck won't run with the dummy key.

I never trust the original KT lock as it has both locked me out and the door has come open on the road. I use a Stanley locking hasp with built in lock.

If you are putting in a locking deadbolt be careful drilling into the cast door jamb.

I always have a brick in the back of the truck - just in case LOL

Seriously though - I just purchased a combo box off of Amazon and plan to bolt it somewhere on the outside. We also carry keys on a lanyard and keep them around one of our necks when we are outside of the trailer.

I saw those realtor lock boxes open real fast with one well placed hammer blow. Key around the neck? That can be left behind. Hide a key someplace on the vehicle.

I have a deadbolt key duct taped to the bottom of the propane tank. Consequently we only lock the door using the deadbolt when leaving. I also have an extra set of AS keys in the TV and a set of TV keys in the AS.

I want a lock that reads my thumbprint and opens. Enough of this 4,000 year old lock and key technology.

Sure - so now they'll steal your stuff by cutting off your thumb! 😳

Locks are for honest people.

We have a spare set in the always-locked truck. I made the mistake of taking Daisy for a walk this morning WITHOUT my truck keys and panicked, wondering if Sue was going to cook something outside and lock herself out - knowing I wouldn't be able to access the spares in the truck!!

Thankfully, she stayed in! 😀
