Here is what is left of door lock. Think I am missing something. Looked at old diagrams, but can't figure it out. Help would be appreciated. Thanks. Jack

The company that made that lock has been out of business for many years.

No parts are available.

All you can do is sort of make do with what you have or replace the entire lock.

Where oh where has my gasket gone?

Took Keeler doorlock to locksmith. Cleaned it up and it appears to be working. Had a key made. Now to reinstall. The diagram shows a gasket. Can I make one or do I really need one?

I bet you could make one.

Knew I probably could cut one out. Question is where does one get a blank gasket? What material? And does the gasket go on the inside (between faceplate and door) or the outside (between doorlatch and door) of the doorlock? There is a bead of cahlking around the outside plate. Inside the door is vinyl. Thanks. Jack

I don't see a gasket on mine to see the thickness or the material. Mine is sealed with silicon from a PO. It works so I leave it alone. If I were to take it off and re-do it I would probably lay a bead of vulkum or parbond around the outside plate of the lock and install it. Make sure to have alcohol or acetone to clean up the extra that squirts out.
