Hi All
This is the guy who designed and produces the stainless steel doorguard. I stopped producing the design that reads "The Airstream Company, Jackson Center, Ohio" It was extremely diffcult to make owing to some of the detail and there were too many discards.
I revised the design to read "The Airstream Co" & I have these in stock. No Airstream dealer has these in their inventory. There were a limited amount in the Airstream store at the factory. As to their remaining inventory I am unsure. These may be easily purchased online at my website: vintage airstream and other classic travel trailers
Thank you

David Winick
ps. Thanks all for the swell comments about the door-guard

For those who haven't seen the original doorguard, heres ours...

We still love the 'Home Sweet Home' version too.

David are you going to be selling these again?

Thanks David for all the hard work on the screen door guards. They add a great touch. We picked ours up at the Airstream Store while at Jackson Center seeing our new 2007 34' SO. We took it to our dealership when we picked up our new Airstream and had the technician put it on. He was so impressed! He had never seen one of these. He remarked about how difficult it would be to make and asked what we had paid for it. We had felt it was extravagant but thought it would compliment the new 75th edition nicely. He stated that for the difficutly to make it was a good price. So thanks again for such a quality product. We will make sure you get the credit the next compliment we receive on it. They do receive compliments! Everytime we give a tour, in fact. Ours is the original...The Airstream Company, Jackson Center, Ohio.

I just ordered one from the Airstream Store on line. It was a little pricey ($89 + $10 shipping), but Lucy will really like it. It is money well spent for a happy Airstream.

Dave, thank you for your great work. We have the "Home Sweet Home" guard on our Safari and it never fails to get compliments. Makes me smile whenever I see it, too.

Man ! I don't know who you guys know.........

.....but when I called the AS Store day before yesterday at the extension posted above, they said I couldn't order any parts direct from them and had to go through a dealer.

I called Bates, 'cause they are close to where I currently am and they told me they needed my VIN # because AS said they were only selling the 75 th Anniv. guards to people who actually had that model !

Truth be told, I would really rather have the " Home Sweet Home " version.....

Guess I'm the guy who always wants what he can't have

B4WEDI -- Try going directly to the Airstream Co. store online here. You can get the Airstream Co. screen guard, but not the "Home Sweet Home" (sigh).

Hi Ted,

Try the designer's website:

vintage airstream and other classic travel trailers

He no longer has the "Home Sweet Home" guard but does has the Airstream Co" guard.

Hmmmmm, I better keep an eye on my "Home Sweet Home" guard if I'm parked next to you at an NEU rally.

Parts Department vs. Store

There is a difference between the parts department and the online store:

The Airstream parts department will not sell directly to individuals. They will help you look up part numbers but will not sell the parts.

The Airstream online store sells directly to individuals. The store provides apparel, gift items, cleaners, wax, caulk, and a limited number of parts.

They are still available from the Airstream Store. I ordered one about 2 hours ago. Cost was $89.00 plus $9.00 shipping. Phone is 1-937-596-6111 x7401.

Thumbs up

I just ordered one from airstream.com online, too! The picture shows the same inscription as posted by CampADK.

Thank you, Mr. Winick -- it's going to look very nice indeed on our 20' Safari

Cheers,
-jd.

Today's My Lucky Day!

Just received the 75th anniversary screen door logo. This will be a nice surprise for my wife when we take our next trip in March.

The part I received says The Airstream Company in large script with Jackson Center, Ohio in smaller script below. I purchased from the online store last week.

I just ordered one from the Airstream Store for my 2007 Safari SE, so they are still available. I've got the 75th anniversary logo on the trailer; thought this would be a nice complement to that.

Really? I thought they just had the 'Airstream Co' versions not the full 'The Aistream Company Jackson Center Ohio' version.

Might just have to order another one! LOL

Mind you the 'Home Sweet Home' version is a pretty nice verson too. My wife thought of mounting that one on the window.. or somewhere.. anywhere LOL

Hey, I got the screen door logo In.....

I got the piece in from the Airstream store. Mine sez "The Airstream Company"., I really like it. I plan on installing it with some stainless steel allen head fasteners with lock nuts on the back. It appears to be cut with a laser.

Very nice piece, fair price.
