Rivet '72 Tradewind: Locking the Door From Inside

Yes, I'm leaving my dignity outside the door and admitting I'm a newby.

I love the "new" tradwind but as yet have not figured out how to lock the door from the inside.

The only controls I see are the handle and a cap nut over the top of some kind of shaft that slides back and forth. was there supposed to be a lever underneath that cap nut, that locks the door??

My 75 Trade Wind has a small metal shaft below (I think) the handle. It sticks out from the door about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. If yours is the same, you move the lever towards the floor to lock it. You will feel it latch. Hope this helps!
