'69 Caravel door lock slop

The knob on our 69 Caravel has a lot of slop in it. It will work, but it takes a lot of trial and error to get it to work. I am new here and restoring this AS.

Pulling out on the knob, it will move about 1/8". When you wiggle the knob, it will move about 1/4".

There always is some "slop" to the old Bargman lock.

Excessive slop, at this point, is something you will have to live with as Bargman no longer supplies that lock, or any parts, since it's been discontinued.

A different lock is available should you decide on a replacement.
