1971 AIRSTREAM 29' AMBASSADOR Entry door required

Hi,

I have just purchased a used AS, but it is missing the door.
Anyone know where I can buy one or what years would fit?

TY in advance

Welcome!!

I belive a door from any 70-late 70's will fit, others will chime in on this. There was a door on e-bay a few days ago. MPJ

1965 to 1972 Airstream had a cast entrance door frame and jamb.

That casting has been gone for over 30 years.

A 1973 and up door, will not fit, without considerable modifications.

Andy.

1973 and up, doors are made with extrusions.

You can upgrade your trailer with a later year door, but you will also have to change out the door jamb, the part that is riveted to the shell.

On up to about 1981 models, the doors are the same as the 73 models.

If that's your choice, changeout of the door and jamb, is a must. Cutting some of the shell away at the upper corners must take place.

The top of the later doors have an entirely different radius, which allows more clearance for a persons head.
