I welded the broken door on my
1967 Tradewind, and after about 3000 miles of travel it is still good. I removed the door from the trailer, removed the inner skin, took the door to work and heliarced it back together. The aluminum in the cast frame is dirty,ie it is hard to weld. Lots of pits and dirt/impurities in the parent metal. However if you are patient ,do a lot of grinding & wire brushing you can prduce a clean, strong weld. My door fit and aligned well when I was done. Adios, John
