1958 flying cloud lockset help please. .

I dont have any keys for my 1958 flying cloud. I was able to get the rusted shut latch working fine now, but need to have keys made or replace the lock on it. What do I need? What does they key look like? If I get a blank, could a crafty locksmith reproduce the key for me?

I looked on vintage trailer but cant seem to match up my year, Handle to the right lock.

Thanks in advance.

What lock set do you have on your '58?

Sorry to butt in, apparently it's past Matt's Bedtime . . .

I've seen his trailer (and smelled it) and he has one of these Door Latches:

but. . .

Mine looks much more corroded then that one. .. . does that affect the shape of the key? Seriously though, I need a key so nobody steals anything out of my gutted trailer with nothing in it. . . Actually maybe someone will feel prompted to come in and give the walls a good scrubbing to take the smell down. I am almost certain the other box trailers in the storage lot are gathering a fine film on their walls.

Somebody please tell me what to buy (in relation to the lock set.. . Or will a locksmith be able to hook me up?) Or should I just get some gate hardware at home depot and put a padlock on it?

here's my corespondence with fletch:

Hi Ted,

Enclosed please find pictures of the cylinder assembly for the Bargman H-20. The shaft is attached with a pin which allows it to wobble back and forth, it is not bent as it may appear in the first picture. The keys are stamped 'Bargman'. This is a NOS assembly and I only have one that I'm willing to part with. Your cost would be $50 plus $8 for usps priority shipping.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best,
Fletch

It is just a simple lock

If its just the key you need...any good lock smith can make up keys...either from the number on the assembly or from the assembly itself. If you have it apart to clean...just take it in to the shop. I have done this a few times. The handle is the problem here...I suggest that you buy a spare from Vintage....they are nice and the old one is in a precarious part of its life cycle.

Thanks for the replies. I will purchase a shiny handle as a backup and get a locksmith to make me some fancy new keys.
