Im not sure how long the stay is but Rich (W8VS) told me their signals are real strong...

We are first timers for the 2008 International. I reviewed all the registration material I received and the draft or tentative schedule of events from the WBCCI web site and while they talk of an amateur radio base station at the International there is no mention of a talk-in frequency. Is there one?

In the past I believe they mainly use 146.43 simplex and may also arrange to borrow a local repeater depending on availability. On HF, they'll be on the RV Service Nets.

I found this site while online: MRLA - WR7MT Home Page It gives the 2M frequencies for the Montana linked repeaters. The 146.43 should work fine while on the MSU campus. The linked repeaters are supposed to cover most of SW Montana and Yellowstone. Dick, K1MGH

Check this out! HAMCOW. Now imagine that with an Airstream! Wouldn't it be cool if the radio club could convert an Airstream as a mobile shack kinda like the 'post office' trailer???

Anyone planning on upgrading their license at the International? They usually have classes and VE testing available. I'm thinking of making a try for Element 4 (Extra)!
I've had the study guides already and have procrastinated until now. BUT, the question pool expires in June of this year. Time's up! Gotta GITRDONE!!!
It would be fun to have a group of us try!

The 2008 Tentative Rally Program lists VE testing for Technician, General and Extra on Monday, June 30, 9:00-11:00 AM
I plan to take the Extra exam also.
