"New" For The Trailer

I was given an "new" item for the Trailer. I now have an 1975 Royce 1-620 CB that will be part of the 1970 OverLander-InterNational Dbl.

Do any of you have an location that is best for the antenna ???

Center of roof is hypothetical ideal. Actually depends on your usage. My Silver Streak has one mounted on the side near the roof that the PO installed for campground use. It is fair to say that transmit and receive are about one mile (poor).

Your old radio may work well. My dad sold his 1978 Silver Streak with the oem CB radio still cranking out a great signal. You may want to check that your radio has 23 or 40 channels, there was a change way back when. Also, some of the older radios like yours use crystals for tuning, may need some atttention to work well.

Have a look at some of the old WBCCI photos for ideas on external mounts.

The best place would probably be the dead center of the roof. A transceiver antenna uses the vehicle body as part of its signal radiation. Center would gove you the most in all directions.

Hola There

The "table setting" Royce unit is an 23 channel unit. I like it since that was the total of CB Channel's then.

For the tow vehicle I also looked for and found an 23 channel "Cobra" to keep all appearing as if it was yester-year.

Thank You for both for replying and pointing out what I need to do with the antenna. It seems I have an task to "snake the cable" from the front cabnet to the top-center of the trailer.

We use a magnetic mounted antenna and snake the cord out a door, in between cab and bed of pickup truck. Easy on and easy off (for those low ceiling parking garages).
