My wife and I have had iPhones since their inception, on ATT since that was the only option then. We use a Wilson amplifier, on the tow vehicle when we are underway, and moved to the AS when we stop. I used silicon sealant and secured a large steel washer over the front window, the magnetic antenna base connects to it. The internal antenna cable comes thru the window on the driver side by the couch. We traveled 22,000 miles with this set up last summer and were only without a signal for a few days in Goblin Valley, Ut. A data plan on the iPad gave us good internet connections also.
