Just an update on my signal booster on the Land Yacht Clipper.

When my TV signal is from cable, (outside source hooked thru the outlet in basement service bay) the signal is not compromised by the position of the antenna booster switch on or off.

My coax runs to a distribution selector box presently located under my TV.

Dave

[QUOTE=1130391] . The only issue I have run into is where the cable channels in the park overlap with the OTA channels.

Has anyone that ordered a Wifi Ranger recently heard anything or received theirs yet? I placed the order on 4/7 and ten days later I have yet to hear a peep other than the confirmation email I got when I placed the order. The website still says "Order processing." I understand that not every site can afford to do Amazon-like updates, but I'd think after over a week I'd hear something...

It is a small company and they have to make them. I expect it will take a while.

I received mine yesterday and installed it today. The package was complete except no zip tie. I had to go to Lowes to get the longest they had, 36". This proved to be about 3" too short so I zipped two together. I also added a Velcro pad on the bottom of the unit and on the antenna for extra hold.

I have two concerns; will it work and will it stay attached to the antenna while underway. We are leaving on a 5 week, 3000 mile trip on Sunday the 22nd. I expect that trip will tell the tale.

Also, I understand they are having supplier problems.

Typically, zip ties have a very short life span when exposed to the UV rays of the Sun. Some are better then others...

I sent an email to Wi-Fi Ranger support yesterday because I have not gotten mine yet either. They were very responsive and indicated that they are waiting on supplies that should allow them to ship this week or early next...

WFRSky's Shipping Now

Sorry Airstreamers about the delay.

We've been buried with a few things and we had one supplier go to a "JIT" mode prior to us knowing. It's the $2 part, holding up the $200 order scenario. That and an Airplane hit one of our buildings (seriously) and we've been dealing with insurance, etc. The Airstream was "locked" in the building and we couldn't get to a trade show even! But all is back to normal! Woo Hoo!

Couple of points:

The "Zip Tie" is a UV stabilized 48" x 1/2" piece of marvel that will hold the Sky on the Winegard for some time. They are very good at handling the UV, and if one fails, (or you need another for some reason, like you made an install alteration by accident...) email support and we'll send one out to you. The 36" versions at Home Depot are a bit short, but you can "tether" 2 together in a pinch.

Also, if your Winegard conroller/wiring does not properly isolate the OTA RF from the Cable RF, ( you get interference when the Sky is on, using cable ) let us know and we'll send you a retrofit switch for you to put in the install. It will solve that issue by isolating the RF. We will not be including them in every kit, unless requested, because many coaches don't need them. No cost to WFR owners, just ask for it.

When you get the Sky, be sure to look over the retrofit kit instructions and don't hesitate to contact support with questions. About 50 went out the door in the last few days, so scheduling a call with support is the best use of your/their time.

We are putting up a new video next week on the install in our 22ft International with a new Sensar Pro, WFRSky, WFRBoost, OEMPlate, and even running 5.6.1a Fusion Firmware which is the next release. Should be a fun one to put together.

LOL...the crazy things that can happen... I hope the Airstream and everyone is okay. If I get it in time, maybe I'll install it at our rally next weekend.

Was that airplane the one that delivers the product?

The WFR Sky arrived today, not by airplane, but by UPS truck. It included the Retrofit kit, presumably because they knew I'd need it. One day I will install it, but will not be able to test for issues with cable until I'm somewhere with cable sometime in the future.

I did not install the Retrofit either. We leave for our trip tomorrow and I will have a chance to try out the Ranger. I'll let you all know the results.

Be sure to take the retrofit kit with you. It *may* be needed if your Winegard power supply wont put out enough amps to run the Sky and the RF amp. You will know you need it if when you power up the amp, you don't see the Sky broadcast within a few minutes. You'd kick yourself if you left it at home only to find 10 minutes and a screwdriver would have it installed...

Ok you guys. Here is the scoop. I did not need to use the retrofit kit.

To log on to the Ranger you need to go to settings in the iPad or network connections on a windows computer. The password is changemenowxxxx.

The xxxx is the 4digit I'd number of your unit. It is in the upper right hand corner of the install instruction sheet that comes with your unit.

It works perfectly. This is the very first time that I have been an early adopter and everything worked as advertised.

By the way, the help from the Ranger crew was phenomenal!

Got mine today! I'm hoping to install it at the rally this weekend. Unfortunately I only have a 6' ladder so I'm not sure how that is going to play out. They included the power thing for me, too.

I learned this from azflycaster (Richard)—raise antenna, turn antenna 90˚ over edge of trailer, lower antenna—then it will be much easier to reach.

Doesn't the Retrofit kit also isolate the power to the roof from the cable connection?
