Connect a Dish to '79 AS

Hi folks:

I have a '79 TradeWind that I acquired a year ago. True barn find. I want to use a Dish antenna. Can I run the coax from the antenna to the external coax lead on AS, or do I need to run it through open window or through a dedicated connection I install, and from there to receiver?

For what it's worth, there is an existing analog antenna atop trailer, which I will chop off some day.

I would not count on any coax currently in your Airstream to work with Dish Network. I hd issues with coax that was installed in my 75 and had to replace it with RG6. Older coax, multiple connectors and inline amplifiers will cause issues. Find a location in your trailer where you want the dish contrl box and run a cable to the outside. My 75 had a connector in the bumper storage area. On my current trailer I ran the coax to the back of the refrigerator.

That's what I thought. I'll get a connector and install it.
