I have seen good reports for the "Jack" antenna. According to the spec sheet, it will do FM as well as VHF and UHF TV. It won't do AM. You will probably have to add a car-type antenna for AM. You will have to add a diplexer (FM/TV splitter) to get a feed for FM to your tuner. The best option is probably a car-type antenna for AM and FM and a separate antenna like the Jack for TV.

Check Crutchfield for car antennas.

I have the powered Jack replacement head. So far seems to me an excellent replacement for the stock ant. I have not tried for AM/FM so can not speak to that.

I'm in same boat. I like good ol fashioned AM/FM radio. I deleted the old solid "mast" style antenna from my unit. I see you can get replacements from VTS, but I'm in the market for a newer style that I can mount on the roof with the new JACK TV antenna I bought. I understand it will do FM with some mods, but still wont get AM, so I've found these:

Amazon.com : Metra 44-UA30 Amplified Rubber Roof Mount Antenna : Automotive Antenna Relays : Car Electronics

Keep us posted on what you decide!

I'm also interested in anyone else's input to their replacement solutions?

The Jack antenna is the only way to go (IMHO). Have had a number of campground experiences where the Winegard (A/S standard antenna) got 1-2 channels and my Jack got 6-7. Newer technology, easy install.
