Where in the world is my "Dual Coax Faceplate" ?

This is about our 2014 23D International Serenity.

Page C-6 of my owners manual shows a "dual coax faceplate." This can be used to connect a satellite receiver. I have searched everywhere in our 23D and simply cannot find this thing. Page C-7 supposedly tells where it is (profoundly unclear) but the "location" given isn't helpful at all.

The same page speaks of an HDMI cable... well it's plain old coax on our trailer. I don't care about this, but I'd really like to find the "dual coax faceplate."

If it exists at all.

Thanks,

Rob

Nope, not there

Thanks, though

Dual Coax

Unfortunately, the owner's manuals are not always current to the model year of trailer. That same dual plate is referenced in my 2013 23D but I don't have one and I doubt you do either. They were used in earlier models.
Your front TV has an HDMI hookup that works with the DVD player. The manual may reference 2 HDMI hookups but I only have one. Questioned AS about it and was told that 2 were present only in 25 footers and above.

You can add a 2nd TV in the bedroom if desired as the antenna is wired to the rear plate. It just won't be hooked into the DVD player unless you run another HDMI cable. I added a 2nd TV and replaced the existing plate with one like the front, with a 12 volt outlet built in. Great place to plug in a fan to circulate air front to back lower to the floor. I have a dog that travels.....

In mine, the wiring for all those systems, including satellite input, is either behind the DVD player or in the cabinet bottom above the curbside speaker. You can also pull out the stereo head unit to gain access if needed.

Happy Hunting.......

Can't talk specifically for your model as I am not sure if these have two TV's standard or not, but on my 2014 25FC and my 2015 28FC I had to use the HDMI cables located by where your DVD player is. There is a Sat cable behind the DVD player that you can remove to access. It is marked, but for some reason they stuff it behind the DVD player. This is the line from the outside connection point which has cable/satellite marked on it, generally next to power hookup.

Access the cable that is marked satellite behind the DVD player. You may want to add a 2x4 HDMI splitter there to be able to switch TV sets from Sat/Cable/DVD depending how you use your TV's. There should already be a splitter located behind the DVD, but is only a two way allowing DVD on one TV and cable or over air on the other. Hook your satellite receiver up to the coax marked sat and the run a HDMI cable from the receiver to the splitter. Again, if you want total flexibility in the use of the two TVs, you will need to change the splitter out.

Hope this helps some.

Chuck

They totally forgot to install the plate in my 2005 Classic and I had no signal to the TV outlet. After a couple of phone calls to the plant, they provided me with the exact location and sent me the parts. I temporarily removed the credenza for access and cut a hole in the appropriate spot. I found the cables stuck to the outer shell behind the insulation where they had been forgotten by the assemblers.

It isn't impossible that it has happened to you, too. I was able to do the fix on my own, but I could have taken it to the dealer.

I have a 25 Flying Cloud. It is on the exterior either above or below (I don't remember) the shore power connection. It is a Furrion plate, just like the shore power connection. Lift the cover and you should find two coax connections. This is where you would connect your coax cable from your satellite TV dish or if the campground had cable, you would connect your coax between this and the coax plug in at the campground power pedestal. Maybe 23s do not have this but I think they do.

I am a newbie, too. Good luck!

Well, I'll be darned ... sure enough, there are two coax inputs there: one marked 'SAT'

So, now the question is: where does the receiver hook up?

OK, I just slipped the DVD player forward out of its little box and took a look in there. I don't see anything except the DVD power cord and the HDMI cable that is connected to the DVD player. When installed, the player sits on a panel that obviously has room under it... are you suggesting that the connector(s) are under that bottom panel?

What a treasure hunt!

So, I just took out the two screws so I could lift the 'box' up, and look under the DVD player... nope, nothing there except the HDMI cable and the AC power cord.

Airstream doesn't want you to have satellite

OK, so there are two coax connections outside. One must goes to the TV area to combine with the TV antenna coax from the roof. The other must go to the cabinet area where the DVD player is located so a satellite receiver can be installed with it's HDMI going to a HDMI switch. It has to be there.

Well, Kelvin, I just pulled up the 'box' and took a look. It's not there. Maybe, I should drop the curb side speaker and look around in there (it's not accessible by just lifting up the DVD player box).
