TV with analog tuner needs replacing

Our old Sony WEGA 19" TV needs replacing as we can only watch DVD's with its analog tuner. I'd like to get at least a 24" but can't seem to figure our how to determine if the TV will have the necessary input and output jacks so we can use the original JVC CD/DVD receiver, and the built in wall speakers. This Samsung looks good but does it have what I need?

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-...&skuId=8040004

HELP PLEASE!!!

Can you post the model number for your JVC DVD unit?

Yes, you shouldn't have any issues connecting your KD-ADV6160 to the Samsung UN24H4500AFXZA. The JVC unit has a composite video output connector that will connect to the composite video input on the Samsung. You probably already have this connection to the Sony TV.

Not knowing what audio connectors are used for the Sony Wega TV I can't be sure that your existing cables will be compatible, but certainly there should be no issue making all the audio and video connections between the Samsung TV and JVC receiver. You might have to purchase an audio cable that has a mini-stereo plug on one end and RCA male connectors on the other for the audio connection from the TV to the receiver to work properly.

Thanks. If there are any other TV's that would also work, I'd appreciate any further input. I love the Airforum. Thanks.

Should just be RCA audio/video cable- red, white, yellow-
Any TV will have RCA audio/video inputs-
May be coaxial cable input-
Any TV will have coaxial cable input-
No more S-video or optical connection-
HDMI took the place of those I think.

You can keep your old TV. Just get a converter, digital receiver and plug it in.

Time for a bigger TV anyway. Thanks. 28" will fit there and same specs and price as the 24".

If you haven't bought yet, check out Sharp's Aquos models. FABOULOS image quality!! Only two companies produce the flat screens for ALL brands, however, Sony, SAMSUNG, and Sharp have a range of price points. Also, get at least two HMDI ports for future technical add-ons.

Thanks. I'll check out the Sharp's. I think the Samsung has 2 HD I ports but I'll double check the specs again. Thanks.

A Samsung at a lower price point will have 2 HDMI ports and a 60Hz refresh rate.
A higher price point will have 4 HDMI ports and a 120Hz refresh rate.

we bought an AS with one old magnavox 12 volt analog tv in rear with a nice wall mount. It needs a convertor to watch digital so we decided to replace with new flat screen HDTVs. there was not one installed by dinette so we needed two units.

While looking at display models of the Insignia models a 19" it was powered by a 120 to 12v transformer.. I was think how cool is this.. don't need a convertor to watch TV off the pedestal. Actually both displays were 12v so I was thinking COOL..

We wound up buying the 19" and had to order a 24" for area on wall by dinette.

Well we got the 19 home and when we had it inside the AS taking it out of the box i noticed it had a regular 120v cord. sure enough its a 120 v and i was bummed for sure..

Well fast forward to today and the UPS man brings the 24 up. I grabbed the box and starting in up believing it was a 120v started pulling the unit out of box and noticed no wire to unit..

WELL low and behold this one was 12v input.. YYYYEEEEAAAHHHHH,,

so if you are looking to replace or upgrade check the insignia models at best buy.. (insignia is best buy house brand made with samsung and LG parts.)

Thanks for the update. I believe we're going to buy a Samsung 24 or 28" that has 2 digital optical audio outputs and 1 analog audio output and for $200 it seems to be a fair deal.
