TV Wiring

In my 2011 27fb we have a samsung 22 inch tv. Considering upgrading it to a 28 or 32 inch. I was looking at the wiring, seems that airstream drilled a hole into the tv, and there is a green wire that goes into it. Anyone know what that green wire is? It is not antenna, audio output, svideo, etc.

Oddly enough, there are also audio wires that go through the same hole as the green wire. I'm sure they connect to the stereo/dvd player, but am not sure why a seperate hole rather than using the audio in connections on the tv.

Before the green wire goes into the wall, where does it terminate? What kind of wire is it; a single conductor, coaxial, zip cord, etc.? More description may help.

Mixed,
I don't know what the green wire does, but the audio plugs coming out of that hole are not audio in - they are audio out, and they let the Trailer speakers play the TV audio.
Best,
Joe

It's just a green wire, same size as a single audio wire that has the rca plug on it (12/14 gauge?). no markings/lines/etc on the wire between the hole in the tv and the tube that leads all the wiring into the wall. The player is a sony MEX-DV2200, tried looking at the install instructions for that, not clear on what that wire could be on that unit.

Perhaps it's the video out from the Sony connecting to the video in of the TV?

There is a separate composite a/v connection from the sony.

For a moment I thought it might be audio "center out", but I cannot get sound from the sony to the tv.

Looking at the wiring diagram for the sony, only things that seem like a possibility (ie. single wire) are:

center out (couldnt get sound)
remote in (maybe needs configuration, tv remote doesn't operate the sony)
bus control in (not sure what this would do)
mic in (there is a mic connection in the cabinet next to the sony, no mic in tv)
antenna (there is a separate antenna on roof for radio, not likely)
parking break switch (would be easier to ground it per instructions in manual than string a wire to the tv)

Can you take a picture of the back of the TV and post it? Also what is model number of TV. You can also take the back off of TV and look. It may be connected to the internal speakers for line level in for audio on the Sony.

Samsung UN22C4000

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9799133/tvback.jpg

You can see there are 4 wires, one for antenna, yellow for video (a/v), the audio wires and the green wire. The audio and green go through a hole drilled into the back of the tv with a rubber grommet protecting the wires.

The mystery deepens. I opened up the cabinet where the sony is. NO green wire!?

Received additional verification from Airstream:

"Yes it is a ground wire but most of the time it is not needed and we do not hook it up."
