Swift Hitch as a rear view camera
I had purchased a Swift Hitch digital wireless backup camera, but because I installed an OEM camera in the truck I did not need it for hitching up.
Brian's installation of his Voyager in the cabinet above the rear table gave me an idea and on my last trip I temporarily mounted my Swift Hitch on the table...worked well.
I bought a JOBY mount intended for GoPro so it has an industrial strength suction cup and it mounts to the rear bumper compartment top. To use it on the table I am going to need an adhesive disc since the formica has a textured finish. But it works fine outside on the bumper, good clear picture in the truck.
The display is mounted on a smartphone holder, vent mount. Both the camera and the display are Li Ion battery operated with rated time longer than my driving day, charged by 12 vdc.
I think I have a great solution for far less money than a Voyager and no holes to drill or wires to run.
