Sensar Antenna On Side of Air Conditioner?
Tried searching to see if this has been discussed but not finding posts right off...
Wondering if it might be possible to install a Sensar IV antenna alongside of the AC, maybe street side. PO removed the old antenna on my 31' 77 excella and I kind of want to keep that space open for possibly adding more solar. U know some people have tried to put the antenna between panels but any shadow, even from an antenna, really knocks down power output on the solar.
I'm thinking the added curve of the roof alongside the AC is as big of a consideration as if enough space is there. But not having ever had my hands on any kind of RV antenna I don't know much about them.

The other option I am thinking about is the Jack antenna or a batwing/disc fixed type. Seems like reviews in the Jack are mixed, and my gut tells me that something big on a crank up mast has inherent physical advantages.

Winegard has a new antenna out very recently. It is a 12" sq sheet of plastic embedded with a foil. I think it is designed to be stuck on an interior window. Might not work in fringe areas, but in more populated areas I think it will be great. Camping world already has them. Combine it with a good amplifier and it should be as good as the old roof mounted antenna.... without a hole in the roof to leak!
I'll post the part number later.

Are you really counting on that much solar?
Not a jab, just asking a honest question. How large is your trailer?

Since your trailer is a '77 model, and therefore not a wide body, I would think you would not be satisfied with the angle of the antenna if you mounted it in that location.
Just my opinion.

I have a 31 foot. I've just installed some panels in the back and it wouldn't cost much to have more up front since my controller will handle it. Just getting a feel for output on the vase install before I decide. The hard part of adding a solar system is done.
