Radio Power in 1991 Excella 25'

Can anyone tell me if there is a switch for the radio to work on AC power rather than the battery?

Ours is the same type that is in a car. If your charger is on even if your batteries are dead, it should still work.

This is a dc powered radior and will not work on ac. The charger will supply the necesary dc even if the battery is missing but it is not recommmeded as it will affect the quality of the audio of the radio. If it doesn't work with a battery in place and or the charger plugged in then I think you have a radio problem.

For AC operation you need a 'home type' stereo unit, not the mobile 12VDC units that come from the factory. There are no car-type stereos that I know of that will also work on 120 VAC. Of course, you could use an inverter connected to your batteries to produce 120VAC if you aren't plugged in and are dry camping, but that would be kind of redundant IMO.

If your 12V stereo is not working, check the fuses and ground connections. 90% of the problems start there.
