Polk Audio subwoofer dead

I just realized the subwoofer on my '19 Classic is inoperable. Bass turned up. No sound or vibration emanating from it whatsoever. Cursory view looks like wires are connected. Any suggestions? Thanks.

1. Ensure subwoofer enabled on your Polk head unit

2. Check fuse that is inserted into the subwoofer itself (20A automotive fuse I believe)

There are two controls on the right side of the subwoofer enclosure, located under a plastic panel. (The panel slides upward). One is a crossover control that determines at what frequency the bass signal is sent to the sub and the other is a level control. On our 30' Classic both of these controls were set at the 7:00 o'clock position (basically off as far as the level control is concerned) from the factory and the bass was pretty much completely missing. Using a screwdriver I was able to adjust the controls to a level that gave satisfactory bass. I'd check that out.

Yep, what he said. The factory does not set these and they are normally turned off. Getting the plastic door off is a bit difficult. Prey with a screwdriver. Don't worry if it gets damaged, you probably won't put it back on.

Check that each wire running to the sub actually works by disconnecting one at a time. Red and white wires with the large connectors. My right signal did not work due to a break in the wire in the wall. It was fixed under warranty.

Mine only works when plugged into shore power and the store switched to run.

I have a 2019 27 GT, the adjustment knobs were exposed (not under a cover as some previous models were.) No screwdriver required to adjust.

On the current models the sub works on both battery on shore power as long as the switch is set to "run".

I was referring to the red battery disconnect switch on the panel to your left as you enter the trailer. I notice that I incorrectly used the word "run". My apologies if that added to the confusion. On some models it reads "use" and "store". On the Classic it reads "on" and "off". It must be in the on position for the sub to be powered.

I doubt that's part of your original problem as the stereo wouldn't work at all if the switch were "off". Were you able to find the level control on the side of the subwoofer and see where it's set?

On my 19' Bambi, I noticed my sub woofer wasn't working also. I found a broken wire behind the speaker where it comes out of the wall. There was just enough wire there for me to crimp on a connector.
