Over air local channels with Direct TV

I'll admit TV set up stumps me. Help needed. We have Direct TV in our 2009 Classic. Works great. Unable to receive local channels using batwing. I'm sure I just haven't figured out how to correctly hook it up. The booster switch is on. We have three coax cables entering the cabin near the tv. One goes to the Direct TV mobile receiver. The other two are not used, one is by itself and enters thru a grommeted hole in wall, the other is bundled with av cables. These av cables are not needed and are not used with our Direct TV set up. In the bundle is a coax and 5 colored av cables 3 large ones, red, white and yellow and two smaller wires, red and white. Also in this bundle is the tv power cord, naturally being used. We are using the original Samsung tv. We also are using 3 av cables from receiver box to the tv. Have tried hooking wires up in different ways with no luck. Any advice appreciated. What am I doing wrong?
