Outdoor TV Setups. Show Me Yours!

Not trying to have this turn into a purist, "that's not what camping is about" thread, just looking to see what others have done with regards to having TVs outside the trailer.

I'm planning on building a box/tv stand to place outside of the trailer to house our outoor items (tiki torches, foldable shovel, bug spray, dog ropes, etc) and thought about adding a stand for a TV. We currently have a 22" TV on one of the folding aluminum tables, but I'd like to make something a little more tasteful and useful. I have a 32" LED hanging in my garage workshop that I'd take off the wall when we go camping and just hang on this mount on the cabinet/storage box.

I'd like to see what others have done to see if I can glean any inspiration.

Here's a (very) rough depiction of what I was thinking. Two drawers, a table top, the tv stand and the ability to hang the BBQ utensils off the side.

When I'm tailgating amongst all the $1,000,000 rigs at the •insert college team here• football games I get so much attention with my polished vintage Airstream I don't ever buy tickets but I'd like to see the games, or catch some other games on the tube. What do you guys do?

We currently barely have a TV to bring with our trailer, but I'm digging the outside storage/BBQ tools idea.

Actually, my version is the NASCAR infield site theme, but the story goes the same way.

I always keep our tow vehicle outside of our trailer, and vice versa.

Oh. Television. Hmmm. Outside? You mean when you're parked at Walmart, right? No? 32" television? In an campground?

If you hook up wireless earbuds and only use it during the day, maybe the camping gods won't take offense... but it seems like this would have the potential of really annoying your neighboring campers, who may well not agree/like your television program, but have to listen to it anyway. I've never seen anyone using a outdoor television or outside stereo (aside from Burning Man - but that's a different animal, and sound complaints are rife there too) in a campground.

There are lots of things we can do. Is this something we should do?

Wow that got out of hand quickly! Obviously some posters don't understand the differnce between a sporting event and a campground.

I saw a great idea for a simple removable Mount on the outside of a trailer.

They purchased an adjustable flatscreen mount with a removable bracket. The trailer had one bracket inside and one on the outside so the TV could be moved from inside to outside. This one also had a cable hookup on next to the TV mount.

I may add this on my trailer but I would build a bracket that would attache inside Fridge access door and it would be removable with wing nuts or something. That way I wouldn't have to touch the skin of the Airstream. I would also run the cable line inside the fridge door.

I think this was the mount I saw.

I was camping with about 30 RVs on a large property. Some folks that were camping on the outskirts, set up a 13" tv on a table, and watched a football game that they didn't want to miss. ( and they were sort of making jokes about themselves about it) I didn't think twice about that.
On another occasion a guy set up a screen and an LCD projector to show movies. The people that were watching the movie were annoyed by people talking and laughing. Some of us got dirty looks for playing guitar and singing.
Anyway, sometimes television can be a bit antisocial, and sometimes it can bring people together.
My kids act like I am rude for complaining about them texting while we are having a conversation. So .....when they ask me for money... I pretend that I don't hear them because I am busy texting.
Bottom line....Emily Post has a hard time keeping up with technology.

Seriously, I have seen some massive, elaborate outside entertainment centers in the infield at NASCAR races. They were housed in the basements of big pusher motorhomes. I'm talking like 60 - 70 inchers with large audio systems.....oh yeah, the next compartment over had the roll out bar!

I absolutely love to see the big time tailgaters with their massive get ups with tv's, satellite dishes, dining room tables, floral arrangements, etc. It looks like tons o' fun. The drawing you have in the original post looks like our entertainment system from Ikea. Maybe you could find something on their website to get your imagination flowing.

Wow. I was joking. I've actually never been bothered by someone watching TV outside at a campground. Usually it's a non-issue even though I've seen it many times.

I have been bothered by a myriad of other things (barking dogs, a pot-bellied pig, drunk and/or loud people) but the only time I've actually heard an outside TV was at Ft Wilderness when we had our pop up and the campsites are on top of each other anyway.

For tailgating, I'm looking for a way to run the coax (or HDMI) into the curbside rear storage so I can pull out a cheap flatscreen at football games. I'll probably prop it up on a table. If I get real fancy, I'll look for a way to hang it under the awning just outside the bathroom area (25' FB). But really - only for tailgating. I've seen a few people use them camping outside big rigs, but that's not my thing.

Doesn't the AS have a hookup for park cable inlet....and can't you use that to run to the outside? Or are you using that for Sat in?

I hadn't thought about that. Seems like it could work for carrying signal from the antenna

For our tailgate party for Texas football games, we typically set up two LCD TVs on a table just outside one of the campers.

When camping, we don't usually watch TV, but occasionally we set up an HD projector for the kids, and project movies directly onto the side of our friends' SOB trailer. Turns out, those giant white boxes actually ARE good for something...

We don't often use the television inside the Airstream, let alone outside, but it's different strokes I suppose. Worst outdoor TV I saw was a little 20" flat screen balanced on a log in a Provincial Park; the best was a huge 60" that swung out on a wall mount from a compartment on the side of Fifth Wheel. The guy there had his gazebo rigged and was sitting on his motorcycle watching some football - ten out of ten for coolness!

Thought I'd follow up on this thread. I built the cabinet and used it on our two week trip recently. The TV was used sparingly (March Madness) and when we were without near neighbors.

We always camp with our TV. Some may think it is foolish but that is what we do and enjoy. Some of the best times is watching a football game while hanging with friends. It is not uncommon to attract some neighbors wanting to catch the game. I have a 42" that I tie to a tree.

What I would like to know is how to bring the cable and wiring for the outside Tv We have a 2018 30RB classic And we like to camp and watch college football in the fall

Can somebody tell me how to bring the cable out for a outdoor tV I'm not concerned with the TV stand just the best way to bring the wiring out to the TV
