No TV Sound through Clarion M508 on 2019 International Signature 30RB

Second outing with our new 30RB and watched TV for first time and noticed no TV sound coming through Clarion speakers. Set speakers on TV settings to external. Changed radio to Aux. Nothing. Checked ext speaker wires emanating out of TV. Connected Ok to audio extension cord. Have Clarion M508. Noticed wiring diagram does NOT include Aux Input wires. Saw online that M303 (model used on our 2018 Sport 22FB) does have Aux Input wires. Did AS install wrong model? BTW AS tech connected input wires to front channel speaker outputs and had wrong wires to sub (fixed that).

What model radio did folks get with your 2019 Signature 30? Friend has a 2019 Signature 25 that has Clarion M303 (which has Aux Input wires). Does anyone else have M508? Did anyone else have this problem? How did you fix it?

On mine, the internal speakers and line out are tied together (I think). My tv speakers are always working and when I turn on the radio, it comes through.

Try switching it to internal speakers and see if that changes anything.

What Kittmaster said. That is how mine works. You can turn down the sound on the TV if you just want to listen through the Audio System.

Need to clarify. I’m not getting tv audio out of sound system - ever. Initial feedback from AS rep is that they are changing to Clarion M508 from M303 on all 2020 models and tv will no longer play through stereo speakers due to lack of aux in wires on the M508 radio. They started this on recent 2019 builds which is why ours has M508 whereas trailers still on showroom floor built earlier have M303 and DO play tv audio through radio and speakers. This is bait and switch on AS part. Not sure this will sit well with 2020 buyers. Digging deeper. Stay tuned.

Why in the hell would they do that......that makes no sense.

The tv speakers suck ass....the sound system makes the experience so much better.

They went with a non aux in unit??

That is a dumb decision.....be interested in hearing more as it evolves.

Actually they need a sound bar on the TV, even the sound on the stereo is aimed down, not at the listener.

Sound bar will be needed anyways moving forward but owners will have to purchase themselves. Confirmed by Airstream corporate customer service today that Clarion does not ship, nor has inventory of, the model M303 anymore - and Airstream no longer installs. The last of the 2019 builds and all of the 2020 will use the M508 and no longer will be able to play the TV sound through the speaker system. That also means no surround sound for DVD playback as audio is sourced from the TV. This feature change by Clarion caught AS by surprise. In fact, AS is reprinting their 2020 manuals to drop this function and instructions. Also, since the radio still works as a radio - and AS made no claim to play TV through it, lack of this function is not considered a warrantee item (therefore no free substitutions). Customers unhappy with the move should contact Airstream to voice their displeasure if you’ll have any hope of a future upgrade to a sound bar.

My 2019 25’ Sig cane with the M303 system. I wonder if your higher numbered model 508 is an upgrade?

Not really, losing the aux in to play the tv through the stereo is not an upgrade even if it wasn't a bulleted feature.

I've been looking to see if there is a even "replacement" for the 303 and marine 1:1 replacement for this and the results have been unfruitful.

Even with a sound bar....it is a "nice to have" with the sound all over the trailer. I have both tvs on and when I move front to back, it all is in sync and has good frequency response even if it is not idea as a directional soundbar.

It's not like it is a theater environment anyway....so the clarion makes it a nice touch.

I have a Kenwood that I installed in place of my Sony. There are plenty of stereo options that have AUX inputs and many other capabilities.
