Need Help: How to remove automotive type stereo head.

I have a 2009 FC 23CB with the original Sony Automotive Type Stereo. I cannot get it to power up, hoping that it is just a fuse in the rear of the unit. However the special tool required to remove the head is nowhere to be found. Does anyone know if an easy way to remove the entire unit? Can the wooden facia it is mounted in be removed? There is a hand hole inside the upper cabinet but it is a rats nest of wiring and no one could possibly get their hand in there even if you could see where the fuse is. Any recommendations would be welcomed as we all know how expensive the labor charges are at the RV dealers.

I recently had the same problem. There are typically two slots on the sides of the unit - you slide the tool into the slots to release the catches. I had to remove my plastic face plate first.

I happened to have some semi-flat metal bbq skewers. They slipped into the slot nicely and released the catches. Anything flat and about 1/4 to 3/8 wide should do the trick. If I recall I had to go about 2 inches into the slot to get to the catches.

I've pushed two dull round end butter knives into the slots to release the latches. When I hear the latch snap open, the radio will pull straight out.

I've also done it with flat blade screwdrivers, the long skinny one an electrician uses. (what tool you will need depends on how the slot is made)

If you need the disconnect tools pretty sure I’ve seen them at Walmart in car stereo display.
