Mounting a TV

I own a 30' classic (2005) and replaced the original equipment TV with a larger model but used the articulated wall mount already in the trailer - not a good idea because the weight of the new TV caused the setup to lean downward. A heavier mount doesn't help because the trailer interior walls are too thin and at an angle for any leveling adjustments. I would like to get the TV off the wall and put it on a swivel turntable like I have at home with the turntable and TV on the top of the cabinet below the present mount. I would, of course, need to fabicate some kind of lock and fastening system to keep the turntable and TV from moving while in transit. Has anyone done anything like this? Am I crazy to consider it?

Use a lazy susan and drill a hole to pin it with a bold or nail that you drop in. You can probably fine one that required force to move it and it would travel without pinning.

This swivel mount is designed for RVs and might work for you:

MorRyde TV40-001 Pull-Out and Swivel Mount

I have this wall mount MorRyde TV1-021 Double articulating TV Wall Mount
from the same company and I'm completely satisfied with it.

I have a 2007 Safari 25FB and have also researched TV wall mounts. I like the MorRyde due to their locking ability. Bought a 24" LCD TV with DVD weighing 6 lbs. Did you use a back plate on these thin wall panels next to the fridge? If so, how did you do this? Pull refrigerator??? All suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

i installed the MorRyde wall mount in a 1972 Safari (not the 2012 International I have now), which has a considerably different floor plan and walls made of a very stiff laminate that required no additional bracing.

I've found the folks at Airstream customer support very helpful when questions like yours arise.

If you like the idea of having it wall mounted better, you could try my solution. I remove them while traveling and slide them back in place when we're parked.
