Memories...8 tracks

Purchased 8 tracks off of Ebay. They arrived yesterday. Popped one in and stereo came to life. This took me back 33 years. Forgot how much has changed in all those years, but still a fun trip down memory lane. Of course the fifth tape I played began to drag and another set of memories appeared. Can still remember having to toss my Moody Blues' tape after it died in the 70's! Will consider changing out speakers, but for now it is jazz, Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughn, and big band classics. What a fun day.

Is there truly a market for those? Two suitcases full of 8 track tapes were included with our purchase of the Overlander.

have two boxes full of eight tracks that were passed onto me...got some Tom Jones mixed in there. I took the eight track player out (right away) when we got this Airstream...and will later be installing an updated new sound system when that time arrives!

8-Tracks are cool and nostalgic and I love the Moodies, too. But seriously, a couple years ago I converted all of my classic 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s to an iPOD and I'm never going back. Last winter I changed out my original 1972 Stereo/8-Track unit with a new Sony CD/AM-FM/iPOD player and love it. One of the best modifications I've done. What I really love about my iPOD is that I can fit my vast collection of music on one little unit that can fit in my shirt pocket. Priceless!

I have a box full of 33's. No 45's. At one time we considered converting the LP's to digital, but decided we didn't really like the music enough to make the effort. Our tastes in listening have really changed over the years.

I have had a unused Pioneer 12 volt 8 Track tape player (no speakers) that's been setting in my shop for years, I'll offer it to anyone who would pay the shipping.

Model TP-777, 2.64" high, 7.48" wide, 7.09" deep, 4.4 lb

Our Willys jeep came with an 8 track player that doesn't work. A friend bought us a Righteous Brothers tape that now lives in it. Every beach cruise my wife wishes we were listening to it.

I just finished reinstalling the 8-track. I also installed an updated AM/FM/cassettte/CD with ipod adapter. I have about 80 8tracks - another 50 or so cassette's. I am in the process of converting my old LP's (both 33 and 45) to CD. But I also can hook up my computer to the system and play the LPs thay way. Lots of memories. Every time I get the stereo going I just want to grab my partner and dance. LOL She doesn't come out to the TT much anymore. LOL

Yup, I have the bakelite kind of 78s from the 40s. Big band recordings. The Glen Miller records are the scratchiest.

Scratchy is what makes the old records sooo good. I also have some 78s from my parents collection. Great fun to bring them out when we have company over.
