Every time I get the stereo going I just want to grab my partner and dance. LOL She doesn't come out to the TT much anymore. LOL
I am looking to hook up a system in my 1970 Ambassador and dont know where to start. I took out the 8 track player and want a system that I can play my iPod through the cabin speakers , as well as mount a TV and have the audio go through the stereo and cabin speakers. I dont know where to start! Do I get a car stereo that plays DVD's as well? What hooks into what? Would really appreciate your guidance.

If you do hook up a new stereo, get one with an "Auxillary" input on the front. This will allow any device with an audio output to run in to the Aux input, consider you have the correct cable. Most Aux inputs are 1/8" jacks. You can purchase cables that are RCA right and left to 1/8" that you can connect to the audio output of a DVD player, or your satelite receiver audio output to the AUX input of the stereo. Many different configurations. As long as the viewing or listening device has an audio output, that stereo will accomodate it with the right cable.

We took our Buick convertible TV to a local car show yesterday. It was amusing to watch fathers pointing out to their young'ns the 8 track stereo radio, an optional accessory in '71. I placed a cassett in it to highlight it.

Well - lost my old patner (from post above) - I guess I was spending too much time in the old TT. Have new partner now and she loves the trailer and the music. She loves to dance also .

Life could not be any better.
