How Would You Connect This Inside the Airstream?

This ad appeared in my e-mail this morning. Any guidance on how to connect it to the existing system? I would love to stream from Sirius inside my Airstream.

While the add says to add it to your existing radio, I would check to see if the Airstream installed radio in your 2016 is all ready Sirius capable. If not, I believe you will need to add a satellite capable antenna to the roof of your trailer with the lead running to the Sirius control head, and attaching that to the AUX input on your current radio.

Thanks....that's what I thought as well. Not sure I will want to add an antenna etc... I doubt the radio I have is Sirius ready but will look into that.

After purchase of my Airstream, first thing I replaced was the original Sony cassette radio. Got a Kenwood with CD and satellite ready with adapter on the front. I already had a portable Sirius Stratus 7 which played in the house and fits into a portable boom box. When I bought the house adapter it came with a set up to plug into an existing automotive radio and included a smaller round flat antenna which stays on the dash. Now I simply move the Stratus where ever I go. When outside, the boom box has its own antenna also so just need to move the Stratus receiver.

When traveling its in the auto adapter and plays thru the existing speakers. Must admit I was amazed at the quality of the speakers. Planned to replace them too since they were original but turned out to be a high quality KEF speaker.

Our Sirius radio has kept us company with static free local and international news, audio books, great music and more ...all the way down to Belize.

Its the best improvement I've added to our rig.

Do it!!

I ran an antenna and epoxied it to the outside center of my airstream (goes out the same hole as my WiFi repeater and Cell booster - and two spare coax for my for ham radios). On the inside, I attached the headphone jack to the radio's AUX plug, 12vdc in a 12vdc distribution panel I placed in the radio compartment. I use the remote to manage the satellite radio hidden in the radio compartment (it's HF, this config may not work if the remote is IR). It's two boxes, but I can upgrade them individually as needed.

A Sirius/XM tuner is one of our favorite traveling companions. Car, boats, home and Airstream all have that ability. I just disable the tuners that are in seasonal storage. If you have an older am/fm radio with a cassette deck, you can interface to that with a cassette based adapter to go from your XM tuner to your older radio, but it's far better to have a modern radio with a mini-pin auxillary input jack or one with XM built into the radio. We find that the normal car roof antenna if placed in a south facing window ledge inside our Safari, will usually pull in a usable signal. Of course the best results would be obtained from a dedicated roof mount but so far, I've not found that necessary enough to do it.

I stream Sirius channels using the Clarion M303 in my 2016 FC . I subscribed to the iPhone Sirius app and only have to pair the phone and Clarion Bluetooth radios to stream satellite radio from the AS sound system. Easy Peasy!!

We, too, stream Sirius using the Sirius App on an iPhone. We have it play by docking the phone on a Bose SoundDock Series III. The tone is fabulous, filling the trailer without strain, and the phone is charged when it is on the dock. Volume can be controlled with the Bose remote, but not the channel.

We also stream other radio and music streams with the same system.
