One of the problems we've had is finding an installer who has the ability to set up and install either Direct or Dish TV for AS. We have a 31 ft. Classic with a wall mounted 15'' Tv hooked into our DVD/Radio/CD player but we not only need to get a box for the satellite, TV, but also a place to put the box and wiring. We were thinking that a dish on a tripod positioned by the trailer would be the best approach for getting the signal, but obviously the wiring, etc. appears to create difficulty for the RV Service Center we visited last year, but also the home installers. We are also going to purchase a larger TV.
Any pros & cons on mounting the dish on the trailer versus the tripod mount, and also any suggetions on vendors, etc.
Got my tripod on Ebay for a few bucks. I have not had great luck finding a signal though, even with a sat finder.
We bought a SIIG TV Tuner for our laptop though, and it works great with cable, satellite or antenna. It turns your laptop into a nice lcd tv.

We got the Winegard ground-mounted dish, I ran the coax in through the cable input, and up o the receiver that I have sitting on a shelf under the tv.I have it set up so all I have to do is turn the antenna amplifier off, and we can get the satellite on channel 3 in the bedroom. I also helped one of our winter neighbors set up his DirecTV system in his 5th wheel. It was pre-wired for cable, so I set his up like ours is, it was a piece of cake.

I just set up a Winegard portable dish and my Direct box from the house. Connect the dish to the cable connection, remove the internal jumper, connect cable in to sat in, connect sat out to cable out, set up TV for box (Ch3 or 4). The trick is aligning the dish. You have about 20 degrees of tolerance for sat reception from south but there is only 1 or 2 degrees of tolerance vertically. The box will tell you the settings in set up but it takes some fiddling and then works great! Good Luck and Have Fun!
