Furrion DV3100 - has anyone tried it?

I ordered one to replace the old Motorola 8 track - mostly because it looks cool and the price is right. I hope someone else has one and loves it.

Anybody?

Thinking about getting one myself and ditching the Sony head and the 10 disc CD changer.

I have one.

I bought it mainly because it was cheap (~$150) and looks nice! So many RV/Marine AV units look horrible and out of place in our beautiful Airstreams!

Pros:
Easy to use
Looks good
Plenty of inputs, including ones on the front
Easy to install - is single DIN with a double DIN front face
Sounds great with TV/Radio
2 zone sound is easy to use!!!
The wife can use it without instruction ☺

Cons:
BT audio seems a little noisy to me, the wife does not seem to think so though.
No HDMI. Not a prob for me, the TV takes care of that for me.

Overall I am VERY happy with this unit. It does exactly what I need and I do not seem to curse when I am using it!

Furrion DV1200

I purchased a Furrion DV1200 to replace the failed audio unit in last trailer. http://furrion.com/wp-content/upload.../11/dv1000.png

I quite liked it - improved sound of stock speakers, and supports HDMI.

Just looking at the DV1200 and from the photos its a double DIN footprint. It also appears the knobs may extend too far out from the mounting surface to prevent my cabinet door from closing where my Sony is mounted.

You are correct that it is a true double DIN unit. I still have the hybrid trailer in which the DV1200 is installed. If you want measurements to know how far the knobs protrude, I will check.

I intend to install this unit, or one like it, in the Airstream. I will likely relocate the entertainment unit as I plan for speakers, TV, antenna, etc. Not that far yet with planning.

I've checked the specs on the DV3100 and it appears it would allow the cabinet door to be closed. I don't need HDMI since my TV connects are RCA.

One of the issues with even mounting the DV3100 is on my Airstream the speaker selection switch is above the Sony radio. I wouldn't need it any more with the DV3100 but while the DV3100 would probably slide into the existing radio slot it wouldn't cover the exposed hole of the speaker switch above the radio. I'm hoping I can remove that panel and flip it 180deg so the lower part of the DV3100 would cover that hole.

Did a quick search online for the Furrion DV3100. I can't find anyone selling it anymore. I guess I could purchase from Furrion but they want $250.

Lippert distributing Furrion products

According to this article Lippert and Furrion Sign Joint Distribution Pact | RV Business
Lippert has an exclusive distribution agreement with Furrion.

Shipment of the DV1200 unit I ordered in June was delayed more than a month. I believe this was related to the new agreement between Furrion and Lippert. When I finally reached someone, it was a Lippert customer service representative I spoke to. The unit was shipped immediately after I spoke to Lippert.

I mention this by way of suggesting it might be taking Lippert some time to re-establish the Furrion distribution network. One would think this is a priority activity after signing such an agreement, but my open order sat for about 5 weeks...

The DV3100 would be the easier install but I'll probably go with a Pioneer DVD double DIN touch screen head. It has a remote, the necessary video output and audio input and probably better audio quality for about the same price.

Smile The Furrion is in!

The Motorola receiver and 8 track are available (on another post) for just shipping, and the Furrion DV3100 is no longer sitting in my garage - it's in!

The Bluetooth sound is very good; I haven't tried it yet with a CD. I don't have my radio antenna hooked up yet. The wood matches the rest of the coach; the toggle switch turns even the memory connection on and off.

Where did you pick up your Furrion. Can't seem to find any online retailers.
