Where is that plug located on your trailer? I have a 2006 22'CCD and would like to see if mine is prewired for that plug. Thanks in advance!!

the plug is on the "passenger" right-hand side, near the bottomo edge, a couple of feet forward from the rear bumper.
hope this helps,

It's a standard four way flat trailer connector. It came on our 2005 Bambi as part of the Audio/video package. As soon as I locate my multi meter, I will find out which wires are the right/left leads and grounds. Airstream covered the wires with tubing and changed the color coding somewhere inside.

Whoops!
I did a quick search and found that we addressed the external speaker plug a couple of years ago. Attached is a PDF file from Airstream that has the wiring setup.
Briefly:
White----- LEFT +
Brown----- LEFT -
Yellow---- RIGHT +
Green----- RIGHT -
Hope this helps.

thanks for the detailed reply. now i know what to look for next trip to the rv store. since we bought this 2005 a little while ago this wiring harness was apparently not included.
-also- do the external speakers need to be hard-wired into this harness? most new speakers already are fitted with "standard" audio plugs which would have to be removed.

az-streamer Thank you for your reply. I will be at my trailer tomorrow and will see if I can find the wires. I didn,t order it with external speakers but I get the impression that many time these trailers are prewired for all options. Thank you again Brad

"do the external speakers need to be hard-wired into this harness? most new speakers already are fitted with "standard" audio plugs which would have to be removed."
It depends on the type of speakers you get. Some speakers come with the red/black RCA type plugs (like the red one pictured). Others use either a clamping, or binding post device (pictured).
Airstream used the 4 way flat trailer connector with about 1 foot of cable. They spliced it to longer color coded wires under split loom tubing cover. At the speaker end the wire is attached to positive/negative binding posts.
Most of the better speakers have the binding post type connection. I suggest some nice outdoor (weather resistant) speakers. Most of those come with clamp or post type connections. The tubing cover (also pictured) is a good idea. It hides the splice, and helps keep the wires from tangling. Airstream included about 20 feet of cable for each speaker, which was way too much for me.
Good luck!

Silver Ranger,
thanks AGAIN for even more useful info.
It will make this project much easier now that I know what to look for and what to do with it when i find it.
